Commando (1984)

Commando is a text-only adventure game released in 1984 for the ZX Spectrum 48K. It was published by Pocket Money Software and developed by Peter L. Robinson.

The game is designed for a single player and focuses entirely on text-based interaction. Players navigate the environment and solve challenges by typing specific commands, relying on descriptive text to progress through the adventure.

In Russia and the former USSR, the game achieved legendary status. It saw numerous TR-DOS adaptations and was widely distributed on diskettes. Russian translations were produced by groups such as Laptevsoft and Stranger Software. Many cracked versions also circulated on cassettes, including releases by Jansoft and Laptevsoft.
