Daley Thompson's Supertest was released in 1985 for the ZX Spectrum 48K. Published by Ocean Software, the game was developed by Paul Owens, Dan Hartley, Jonathan M. Smith, and F. David Thorpe, who provided the loading screen. Bob Wakelin was responsible for the inlay and poster art.
This single-player sports action game features button-mashing mechanics and crosshair aiming. It supports Kempston joysticks, Interface 2, cursor controls, and redefinable keys. Jonathan M. Smith recalled that the project was produced under tight deadlines using modified code from Hyper Sports, with the exception of the ski-jump event.
The cassette version of the game was priced at £6.95. It was also released for the Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, and Commodore 64 platforms.
The game holds an average magazine score of 79.60%. It received the C+VG Blitz Game award from Computer & Video Games and was named Dougie's Rave Of The Month by Your Spectrum.
In the USSR, the game was distributed on cassettes and frequently appeared in software catalogs. The magazine Micro published POKE codes for infinite lives.
