Earth Defence is an arcade shoot-em-up released in 1984 for the ZX Spectrum 16K. The game was published by Artic Computing Ltd and developed by Donald J. Campbell. It serves as an official adaptation of the original arcade coin-op title by Atari Games Ltd.
The game supports up to two players and features control compatibility with Kempston Joysticks and the Interface 2 (right port). It focuses on intense arcade-style combat, challenging players to defend against waves of enemies within the limitations of the 16K hardware.
The original retail price for the cassette version was £4.95. The game was produced specifically for the 16K model of the ZX Spectrum.
Critical reception averaged 64% across four reviews. Crash magazine awarded the game 63% in two separate issues, while Sinclair User gave it a score of 5/10, and Personal Computer News rated it 4/5.
