Masterfile (1984)

Masterfile, released in 1984 by Campbell Systems, is a database and filing utility designed for the Timex Tx2068 computer. The program was developed by Campbell Systems to provide users with a structured way to manage information.

The software functions as an electronic card index, enabling users to organize, sort, and retrieve data efficiently. It served as a practical tool for data management, offering essential features for maintaining records and creating custom catalogs on the platform.

In Russia and the former USSR, the utility gained recognition as a reliable tool for cataloging personal collections and magazine articles. Enthusiasts created amateur Russian translations to adapt the software for local users. The program was frequently referenced in publications such as Spectrofon during discussions about database management and note-taking software.
