Road Race is a racing arcade game released in 1983 for the 16K ZX Spectrum. The game was developed by Mick Fowler and published by Meow Micros.
Designed for a single player, the game features a compact gameplay area that occupies less than 50% of the screen, reflecting the technical constraints of early home computer racing titles.
In Russia and the former USSR, the game gained significant popularity. It was adapted into numerous TR-DOS versions by various enthusiasts, including Serge, Coda, and Triumph'00. Players also encountered several cracked cassette releases from groups and individuals like Studio TM&M, Beloozersky, and HA-Hacker. Additionally, the game received official Russian translations by Valentin Ozerov and Sergey Klishin in 1991.
