Space Intruders was released in 1982 for the ZX Spectrum 16K. The game was published by Hewson Consultants and developed as an adaptation of the original Taito arcade coin-op.
It is a single-player shoot-em-up where the player defends against waves of descending alien invaders. The gameplay mirrors the mechanics of the iconic arcade title on the early 16K hardware.
The cassette version cost £5.95.
The game did not achieve widespread popularity in Russia. It occasionally appeared on cassette in cracked forms. Later, a disk version for TR-DOS was released by Power of Sound'97.
